Clinical Psychology: Master of Arts Program

The Master of Arts (MA) degree program in Clinical Psychology is primarily designed to educate and prepare students to transition into the Clinical Psychology doctoral program, so that they may eventually provide professional clinical psychology services. Combining theory, training and practice, this program introduces students to basic clinical skills that integrate individual and group theoretical foundations of applied psychology into appropriate client interaction and intervention skills.

Those students who do not enter subsequent doctoral study may utilize this degree in pursuing a social service career such as a master’s-level counselor. Additional coursework and post-master’s experience may be necessary for master’s-level licensure and varies at a state to state level.
